MEElectronics M9

Okay so this review is strictly for those people who dont understand the hi fi language the IEM veterans use. This is just totally for fun. The basic reason is , I ordered these because I was totally bored and for 30$ I was like, what the hell I'll pay that much for an experience.

Okay ordered around the 20th, got them yesterday.

Packaging - Pretty standart, plastic casing.Came via the standard us first class mail. Neat and safely packed. 10/10 !

Accessories - A hard carrying case, a pair of bi flanges airplane adapter, wire manager, and the usual S,M & L silicon tips . 9.5/10 !

Built - Solid metal casing, the gold plated jack fits superbly in the 3.5mm jack of any player/output device. I bought the silver ones cause they look cooler ? :p Also the wire is pretty sturdy, better than the normal pvc coated ones. 9/10 !

Comfort - WIth the tiny weird ears I have, if I could use them for about 4 hours then these will fit ANYBODY :p n a serious note, the wide variety of tips will make sure atleast one of them are good enough to be worn and forgotten.

Isolation - Pretty amazing ! My experience of other iems in same league (uptop 1.5k) suggests these are the best ! Like for me Soundmagic was a disaster in terms of comfort !

Sound - Okay so I will not compare these to the Klipsch, Head Direct and the those who are in a different league all together. This review should assit those who dont wna tot exceed 1500 bucks and would like to please themselves by thinking "I've finally ordered a well known pair of branded in ear monitors form the US of A :D"

So If you're thinking of buying A soundmagic PL11/21/30 or Ep 360 , or one of those reasonable Phillips/Panasonic models, STOP !

The sound they give, right out of the box :-

The supposedly bass enhancing tips actually improvise on the lows ! Totally unexpected but yes they do produce a certain impact. The treble is not harsh rather laidback. They sound better at about 60% or more volume. My source was the Ipod classic. Absolutely no siblance issues, which is basically the hiss you hear in some earphones when listen to words containing/ending with "S". Listening to them you will definitely know the sound is coming from an ear phone , which means the soundstage is decent for the money you paid. Isolation is pretty good actually ! Like better than alot of other ear phones Ive heard ! The vocals sound good, the instruments are okayish. If youre listening to something like rehman track , you'll probably enjoy it , but listening to something which has a relatively lesser number of instruments in the background will make you wana either pump up the volume or change the track :p But doing either of that will help !

All in all, if you wana please yourself and you're one of those who doesn wana rack his/her brain into how the sound is but wants a decent pair of earphone, just expensive enough to make you feel blessed , These are your thing :p :)

One last thing THESE ARE UP FOR SALE :D Need the cash to now audition some other IEMS :)

They're quite bassy in my opinion and sound muffled at low volumes. You need to pump up the volume to hear the highs IMO though their mids are good.

The bass doesn't extend as low as my 50's (understandably) but it does have more volume to it.
Though i didn't fine them that comfortable so i'm going to hunt for more tips.

lol your review and then the last line would leave any1 in doubt, spoils the whole idea of a review! but yea overall in the meelec lineup these r def the better sounding of the lot. prefer these to the m6... sid try some different tips if its not fitting u fine.. didnt have a fit issue with em when i tried it..

I found the bass tips on these the best fit for me. I quite liked the IEMS, the highs were forward, but the mids were good as well. Not for the basshead, though the bass is adequate.

I too have these and had recieved a set of balanced sound ear tips but one of them lost :(

But i really like these earphones.

Btw which ear tip would give the best sound experience (i know it is subjective but what harm in asking) ?

See that is one question I am totally unable to answer. Reason being, I have tiny ears, so any other tips besides the Small ones, wouldnt stay in my ears hence cant compare.

If you want to hear the music with ultimate comfort, use bi-flange or tri-flange ones, which give you complete noise-seal. I always prefer to use bi-flange ones :)

Which gold plated, or silver plated, or even tin plated 3.5mm jack doesn't fit in any 3.5mm socket?

Sibilance has nothing to do with treble. Harsh and laid-back are not opposites. What are you trying to say?

Obviously you will, they're stuck into the sides of your head :D

Actually if the soundstage is very good, you won't/shouldn't feel like you're listening to headphones.

So they receive a good review and are up for sale. Umm...coincidence?

Okay then Mr Vandal, looks like vandaism was the only motive behind your post :p
First, yes I do rate them well, so yes a positive review, however they're good in their own price segment , cant keep them after being used to the S4 and Re2.
Then, SOundstage is decent for the money you paid -->> Soundstage is good ? I dont see the connection. I meant the soundstage is ordinary , not out standing, which gives the impression of a tiny source.

About the jack, the jack this iem has goes completely inside the female jack , partially because of the angular design. Unlike a couple of other iems whose jacks tend to stick out a little.
Oh man. Phew !
If this satisfies you, great , if it doesn, go ahead post another long reply and knock yourself out :p

What did you do and how much time for burning these in. I got these yesterday and they are sounding pathetic as of now, I am also struggling to get the rite ear tip that makes it sound nice

The E3 + balanced ones saves the day though.

Will try burning them in with some pink noise and frequency sweeps and see.

lets see the improvement after burn in

Lol learn to spell, it's "vandalism", and I wasn't vandalising your review. Merely pointing out a few things. The fact is, I came across this thread in google when searching for some IEMs, being a TE thread, I was naturally piqued. Furthermore, you don't pay money for soundstage, it's a part of the headphone, either it has a good soundstage, or doesn't. It can't be "good for the money". It's either good or not.

If you're the same Karan who used to work for us (Digit), then I totally understand the confusion in the review...
