With the recent Skylake platform launches (PCs , laptops) out there, does anyone have any idea when we'll get the latest models locally?

From the online/TV ads it seems companies like Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft etc will be very happy to sell us their previous-gen hardware as hand-me-downs (clearance sales labelled as special Diwali/holiday offers)

I guess we'll need to wait at least 2-3 months for the new year to come around before we see any love.

Really interesting stuff like the Dell XPS 13/15, Microsoft Surface Pro4/Book, Lumia phones but right now can only look and not touch.

This concludes my mini rant thread in the GT section.

Really don't know what's up with Intel, first they messed up their tick-tock schedule, delayed Skylake desktop to Aug and even after it launched there were supply issues until late last month.
No one knows for sure if they're artificially limiting supply to create false demand or getting rid of older stock, they can afford to do this because of zero competition from AMD.

Part of the mobile lineup was launched a bit later and only now we're seeing interesting products being launched/announced elsewhere, like you already mentioned Q1 2016 definitely seems like the timeframe for a wider range of options to show up.
