Guys I am using 1 gig (512 x 2) of corsairs 3200XL mem @ 2-2-2-5 ddr400

Now I'm getting another 512x2 of the C2PT modules from corsair
ddr 400 @ 2-3-3-6......
instead of OC'ing them I plan to tighten the latencies to 2-3-2-6....is this OK?? I mean the c2pt only

Now will it be possible to run all 4 modules in dual channel??
1. assuming the different latencies (DIMM 1 & 3 XL's, 2 & 4 C2PT's)?
2. assuming I downclock the XL's to 2-3-2-6 will it work?
3. which module set should be in the first & third position XL or C2??

Depends on board.

1)The current crop of C2PT modules are winbond CH die based memory which may not go too well with the 3200XL which is TCCD.
2)You might be able to tighten the latencies but there's no guarantee of stability. TRP has no effect on performance anyway. Your current RAM will work at the relaxed timings.
3) Again depends on board.

Most of the guys here may not know enough about memory to comment (snicker)... - remind u of anything??
let me give u a hint, it was posted by a absolute moron ;)
what was that?? did u say vandal?
yooohoooo correeect!! :D

Have configured these B4....babe....just askin...to see....

Chaos you're right (and thanks for the reply the second positive one I got here so far)....but 1 thing I admit to not knowing (honestly) is what incompatibilities exist between the winbo...and the SS TCC....???

And i'm not testing I really do not know.....if u do and wld share it ....well pls do...

feeling sad that I could not afford the xl's.....but the c2pt will have to do....also the c2's are very very hardy and can take a lot of volt mods...unlike the tccd chips...but i do not plan an OC.....

except the latency ofcourse...

wont work in dual channel....

And even if they do, you'll probably see them running at DDR200 with nothing that you can do to fix it (speaking from personal experience).

Now you're scaring me......what do u mean 200Mhz DDR (400 Mhz right)

C'mon man....C2's and Xl's are both 400 Mhz mem, you're saying 200DDR (are you meaning 100x 2 dual rate ) or 200x 2???

I didn't understand what exactly u meant...

DDR200 = PC1600 = 100MHz core frequency = 200MHz dual data rate. This is the existing problem in my system. I have two C2PT sticks: 1 512MB having Winbond CH-6; 1 512MB with Samsung TCC5/TCCD.

I suggest you either buy XLs, or find out the exact revision of the new C2PTs. From what I've read, the newer revisions of the C2PTs have TCC5/TCCD chips (I might be wrong), but find out all the same.

Oh man that's a relief....cause i HAVE 2 STICKS (2 X 512 MEG) 3200XL AND AM GETTING 2X512 MEG C2'S.........both from corsair....
I wasn't talking about mixing them 3200XL (in dual channel) and the C2PT's in dual channel (not staggered)....and not mixing...

that should work I feel.....

If not I can afford 3200XL's by Jan....

thanks...
