will there a new member of the month for this year?
<

#vivek.krishnan, #challapradyumna not to mention compiling a list of absolutely hopeless topic threads and then having a most unique fb page.

In which he lists his Music choices to be --

1) I mostly listen to heavy metal and rock

2) DJ Gish

while his profile picture reads Em_inem.

This guy for unwavering coolness in front of flaming hordes [of members], for initiating hopeless threads and then maintaining them with great zeal and fervour deserves to be the Member of the Year.

All the views mentioned here are my own, sorry if I hurt anyone's sentiments apart from his Graciousness Being.smart.

3. #Renegade Rakesh has done a lot of stuff. nuff said.

I think it's better if the Mods decide on the MOTM. Not everyone can know every other member on TE...

I know avi, vivek.krishnan, Metalspree, Kauzy, Crazy_Eddy, Renegade, CA50, asingh, Mephistopheles, mjumrani, Madnav, varkey, Fah33m, frankmehta, l33t, Black_Hawk and a few others whose usernames are too odd to remember! (Pls forgive me guys...)
<

So, if an unknown member comes up as a candidate for MOTM, I may not vote for him due to the fact that I don't know him...

Thanks, got some more ideas for MOTM

#varkey Vivek for being of great help with the Seagate Go Flex Net

#dinjo Dinesh for the awesome ASUS RT N13 U B1 writeup.

Promise to have this started by the end of this month. So our first MOTM will be from April 2012. Even the staff members are itching to crown one.

Lets have some structure around it. Since the forum world feeds and runs on posts, the top 10 posters in the month will get shortlisted. They will get scored based on the following criteria:
  • 10% - For new threads created
  • 20% - For new reviews and guides posted
  • 20% - Member voting
  • 50% - Staff voting based on the value created by their posts

So whoever is helping others sincerely will easily win it. Have put in the weightage for reviews and guides as those are important to any site's survival.

Top 10 poster? Wouldn't that get a lot of spammers into the list?

For example I see a few members post very few but lengthy and informative posts, which answers OPs query in totality. I have seen many a time esantosh (hope I got the name right) answer meticulously to many queries and his name was the one that came to my mind when I saw this thread. I am using this just as an example (I hope esantosh doesn't mind his reference). Is there a way to make a more comprehensive list.
