Hi all,

I was just going through the member's list & found that around 400 odd members are active ones. I call them active as they 've atleast 1 green rep. on their name.(Techboy not included :bleh: ) I was wondering how the list gets sorted out when it shows up here. For e.g. here

I'm listed as 2nd while Sandy is listed as 1st to the 4 bars needed. So does this mean that he's nearer to the 4 bar thing than the rest of us. There's a bunch of us who all have 3 bars. Of course I do have the rep. count image but that doesn't tell the whole show. I know I can see my rep. count by clicking on the weighing scale & it tells me I've so many rep. points. The funny thing is all of us including Telophase come in the very Respectable tag. A little more clarity on this would be appreciable. Thnx in advance.

if you sort by reputation, it means who ever has more reputation will be higher in the list..... jeez...was that so tough to understand ??

Simply in that list, telophase has more rep than sandy who in turn has more rep than you.....

green bars don't mean active or inactive?

Have a look at me, one of the most active members at TE, ask mods if somebody is more active than me, if Yes, is he more popular? but till a few days back I had a red bar and a single fun thread I think, am I correct mods? was enough to make it green.

also the TE forum main page shows that aroudn a 1000 members are active, everybody is not active all the time, wasn't there a long gap when I was in active too, but now I am active. in fact super active, understatement, hyper active, understatement...

Talking sensibly:
1) Many people join forums and then don't post much or even return after some time, I have joined a tech forum , but not visited for months, may be over a year and neevr plan to visit it again, I joined digit but rarely visit now, I think I joined chip but I rarely visit if at all, I visit anandtech and they are tired of me and what to talk of TE, I am TE whole day, do you want more of me?
2) Not everybody who is active/interested is active all the time, exams, situation etc are responsible.
3)Interests are always not long lived, sometimes you may want to as ka quesry and might find poeple good, you join for it, get the problem/doubt clarified and this becomes the end.
