There are numerous threads in Market Section that lacks even basic details such as Location, Reason for sale and the product's warranty etc...

There was even a thread that had Laptop RAM for sale without mentioning whether they are DDRI/DDRII/DDRIII.

As the market watch is yet to be implemented why not include a template as a temporary arrangement so that all the required details are present.

This is the template that one gets when they press "new thread" button in E Sale Bazaar. Personally i found it very detailed and would make a thread very clear with all necessary info present.(Even this template doesnt explicitly ask ppl to mention whether the warranty is a local one)

Product Name, Manufacturers code & URL:

Product Location: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Preferred Courier: No specific courier/ Vijay's Courier service

Any phone numbers or e-mail addresses will be deleted.

If something similar is implemented in TE then it would be very useful for both the buyers and sellers and make sure all threads have most relevant details of a sale.

+1

I'd like to see people following this template too.

Not sure whether this is necessary though ....

The one i mentioned was just a sample template from another forum. Gannu/Desecrator's table was also neat and simple.
What market section needs now is a good template so that all relevant sale details are mentioned. Now most threads lack many important details about the product on sale.

Point is, the admins should use that as a code within the forum and when a member clicks on the 'New Thread' in the Market section, all these data has to be input in the relevant sections in a tabular format or otherwise. We cannot force someone to manually use them. Or if all the details of the sale can be had from the description of the sale, nothing like it.

That said, I prefer all my sale threads to have a concise and neat description, thus I chose for the tabular format. Oh and all credits goes to the resident wakil of the forum - gmano. :P

We've had a similar discussion just a couple of weeks ago, where some members have voiced their point of view.

^^If you still havent got it, they are pointing at you for not posting proper pics in your market thread :P
I have lost the count of how many of your threads I have trashed or closed or edited out because of lack of proper pics as per our rule.

Here is my simply opinion.
If you really want to sell your product, there is 1 time effort needed to properly represent your item on forums or anywhere else.
Take proper pics, post reasonable price, condition, description that is concise , easy to understand and as per the existing rules. If you can do that, it will go long way in helping you get a quick sale at reasonable price.

I suggest all sellers have their location city in profile. There is no need of template for that.
And even on E if you see, people still prefer writing their own descriptions as just having this template is like having a advert in a classified section. It lacks personal touch which I honestly would prefer any day if I am buying an item from another individual. Specially second hand item.
Same goes for buying advice.
Template is given so that it will help the OP to get proper advice.
But most of the times, simple 2 sentences are enough to tell you someone's requirement. There is no need for template many times. And we honestly would not go around deleting buying advice threads because they are not as per the template provided. ITs there to help the OP, if he thinks he can put forward his requirements in better way, let him be.
Missed it. Read the thread just now. Shripad is of the view that template would lack personal touch. I agree. But there are too many threads that lack the relevant details.
So adding this to code and letting members have a template(non-compulsary) would be a good move IMO.

Actually i wanted to start a thread requesting the Buying advice template to be included in the code.
Most of the newbies who start a thread in that section don't read the stickies and as Shripad says just puts up 2 lines saying they need a PC for xxx amount.
Many newbies(not generalising) lack knowledge about how to list all the relevant detail in clear cut manner. Implenting this will benifit ppl like these.
If thats not feasible is it feasible that the particular sticky alone to be highlighted in different color so that it is prominent?

Exactly. Most people are aware of that ... Hence it is not worth mentioning :)
