hi i have an kobp4m266 ndfsmx motherboard with a 100mhz sdram planning to upgrade to ddr ram(the motherboard supports it) to which ddr ram can i upgrade i mean the speed

The board supports only DDR 266.
But I think you can buy DDR400. (Which will run at DDR 266 because its limited by your board)

EDIT.
In order to change from SDR to DDR you will need to remove/replace some jumpers on the board. Hope you have the manual to guide you on this.

^^^^^^^The board supports DDR 266 which will run at 266mhz.
Only SD ram runs at 100mhz on this board. (instead of 133)
I had this board. I think It was my very first p4 board

so what do u suggest which memory should i buy 266 or 400 mhz can u plz tell me the prices for the specific ram going for a 512mb one i am frm mumbai

IMO you should buy DDR 400. You can use it when you upgrade.
512mb of DDR 400 should cost you aroud 2-2.2k Hynix chips.
EDIT
Price difference is around 50-100 at the most ;)

hi just enquired about the ram prices at primeabgb they were recomending me to go for the transcend ones for 2750/ (512mb 3yrs warranty) and the hynix price quoted to me was 2450/ r the prices okay so which is better

I think you should get the Hynix ram... doesnt make much difference.
But its up to you. IF you can afford the Transcend then buy it. Transcend are good, Hynix is ok. ;)

Sunny At DDR266 I think all most all the rams will do 2.0ns :P

Just saw an Ad for Kingmax memory - if anyone wants contact them at...

Till now Kingmax used to give contact details in Taiwan today I saw first mention of Indian contact.

Is this brand any good ?

Kingmax is a decent brand. Something like Transcend. Not on the top but still pretty reliable. I have been seeing their ads (mostly print ones) for quite a few months now..
