PC Peripherals memTest86 v4.10 fails/gets stuck

While running memtest86 v4.10 it gets stuck and shows no error and I have to restart the machine.. it actually doesn't do anything but the cursor below memtest86 keeps on blinking.
Below where it shows the messages it just gets stuck and can't select any of the options that are below(Esc-reboot, c-configuration etc).. It shows those options but can't be selected after pressing the respected keys (the cursor is still blinking).

are u using it in windows mode then its sure to get stuck.

try in dos mode or if you have it in bios.

BTW if you arent facing any issues like BSOD or frequent reboots or hanging then no need to stress your ram.
 
i am multibooting... have win XP, opensuse... am running it before booting into any OS.. its there in the OS selection menu, memtest i.e..

and yes in win Xp i see lotsa BSODs now... and in opensuse when i connect to internet it gets stuck and nothing gets logged into the log messages so thot of doing a memtest...
 
so no need to memtest then. it clearly states your ram is the culprit. just check it on your friends machine just to confirm.
