Metal Gear Solid 'Legacy Collection' brings a box of Snakes to PS3 in June

The Metal Gear Solid "Legacy Collection" found on a Korean rating has now been officially announced by Konami. The PS3 collection brings together Metal Gear Solid, the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker, and the "Trophy Edition" of Metal Gear Solid 4, along with the relatively hard-to-find Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and two digital graphic novels by Ashley Wood, in a handsome package that might make some consider buying them again.

Metal Gear fans have an affinity for fancy cardboard boxes. The collection will be released in North and South America in June. Konami has yet to specify a price.

Time to grab the Legacy collection. Guess I'll take Kojima's advice and start with Snake Eater.

Legacy Collection Trailer:

I couldn't find a dedicated thread for Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, so might as well use this for my MGS playthrough. I'm currently playing Snake Eater HD and just defeated 'The Fury'. So I believe I have progressed quite a lot in the game now.

What started out as a mediocre experience has now turned into a very entertaining ride. I have understood the gameplay mechanics and familiarised myself with the controls as well. The thing I love about this game is that it has a wide array of options to play as both; a combat machine and a stealthy ninja. Since I'm not a major stealth fanatic, I stick with a blend of stealth and action. I like how fast the AI reacts to the sounds you make and alerts the HQ, if discovered. The cut-scenes are ridiculously cheesy and over-the-top. The only downside is I can't pause the cut-scenes, nor do I have the option to re-watch it.

I always look forward to Snake's conversation with the Para-Medic after saving the game. She is an avid movie lover, just like yours truly. It's a treat to listen to her go on about the movies and none of which Snake has ever seen. To be honest, I haven't seen quite a lot of movies she has mentioned till now, but each of her descriptions make me want to watch all of them.

Also, I love love LOVE the boss battles in the game. For a chronic boss battle lover, this game is really a treat. It has some of the most creative boss battle designs. Best one so far has to be The Fear.

completing the entire Metal Gear Saga (starting with MGS 1) is my one of my gaming resolution for 2014.

I want to start with the Twin Snake (due to better graphics) using dolphin emulator and move on to the HD collection.

Finally done with the game. Took me around 22 hours and 52 minutes and got approved with a Alligator rank. Amazing game indeed. The finale was totally grandiose in every sense. Just when I thought this was the end, another cut-scene would come up and surprise me. Boss's revelation at the end was a complete shocker. My first Metal Gear Solid experience really paid off well. Now I'm really keen on starting Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots ASAP.
