Works well enough.. this is my first fitness tracker so i'm a noob in this matter.

battery life is very good though. 1st charge ( 16 days on - 74% remaining - with some vibration notifications )

Ok i got a query.

Does the band work on its own if it is not connected to phone via Bluetooth?

And when it's connected later on it updates the data it collects?

Or it needs to be connected to phone via Bluetooth consistently for it to work?

1. The Band works by itself - You don't need to connect it with phone all the time for the sake of working.

2. Yes, When it connect with paired phone it collects Data and the Mi Band App keep the record.

3. Answered in Point 1

When you receive the band out of the box 1. Charge it to Full , 2. Pair it with your phone (Android 4.3 minimum) 3. Configure with your details Weight / Height / Set the target steps (default 8000 steps or 5 Km) etc etc 4. Put it in your hand 5. Forget all about it.
