Michael Fassbender will take on the role of Altaïr in the upcoming movie adaptation of one of the greatest franchises in the history of gaming - Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft Motion Pictures has announced.

The new film-making branch of the French developer and publisher Ubisoft had announced their debut project yesterday. Fassbender was recently seen in X-Men: First Class as Magneto and the more recent (disastrous!) Prometheus as the android David.

“Michael Fassbender was our first choice to play the franchise’s iconic hooded hero. Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor,” said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, in a press release.

Ubi has confirmed that the movie will be in 3D.

To quote Jeremy Clarkson - "In the earlier days, It used to be possible to go to the cinema and see a film which did not have Michael Fassbender in it."

Dude! You can't be serious! :scared14:

I liked him in xmen and hunger.
i honestly think he can play this role well.infact, his facial charecteristics are pretty much similar to altair in ac which is an added plus.

By the way,i havent seen extensiely of him and my judgement is just based on the two flicks which i have seen of him.:p

He did play Magneto's role pretty well in X-Men: First Class but he sucked bad in Prometheus. I mean this was nowhere close to what Ian Holm and Lance Henriksen portrayed in Alien and Aliens.

Missed out The Hunger Games unfortunately. :(

I still think Fassbender will do justice to this role, even with all the critics following his role in prometheus
But we will come to know when the movie is out :p

He did pretty well in X-Men. Didn't watch Prometheus but i heardit sucked big time. Whoever plays the role, i am eagerly waiting this movie. One of the best games ever.
