Micromax announced their first quad-core HD smartphone called Canvas HD last month.The phone is being highly anticipated after the announcement, but micromax did not announce any launch date at that time.
There were rumors that the launch has been delayed, but now Micromax has announced on their Facebook page that the Canvas HD will be available starting 14th February on its website . There is no word on the final pricing yet, but it should be below Rs 15000 according to the previous announcement.
If you are not already aware, the Micromax Canvas HD features a 5 inch HD IPS display with 1280x720 pixels resolution and 1.2GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6589 SoC. It has 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD card support up to 32GB. It will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
It has 8MP rear camera with Autofocus and LED flash and VGA front camera. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth. It is powered by 2100mAh battery.
