Micromax has just launched their second phone in their new Smarty range of low cost Android powered smartphones. The Micromax A68 Smarty packs a decent 4" WVGA resolution display, a 1 GHz processor and even Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, all for a sweet price tag of Rs. 6,490. Micromax's first Smarty, the A25 Smarty was aimed at the likes of Samsung Galaxy Y and similar phones. Tha A25 Smarty however costed under Rs. 3,800 bucks, making it pretty much the cheapest Android smartphone in India to pack a 1 GHz processor.

The phone packs decent specifications, for an entry level smartphone that is. The only qualms that a potential buyer could have is the lack of 3G support, like the A25 Smarty. Other than that, a pretty decent handset for it's price. You could look into the Karbonn A15 if you want an even cheaper option, but you will be sacrificing on performance (Cortex A9 CPU v/s a Cortex A5 CPU).
