Micromax A85 with Tegra 2 (Rumored)

There are other things apart from specs which make a good phone. The blade/osf didn't become so popular just because it was cheap. And it's specs aren't all that great either.
 
Who wants to even waste 15k on this fone- Micromax needs to sort out it self -trying to sell a phone in India without LED flash for the cam ! guys get a new life !

Errr... The Galaxy S i9000 didn't have a camera flash and though many cringed it was highly successful in India with a price tag of 25k+.
 
^ I guess you don't really need to ask this to Micromax, but if you get your hands on this phone can you confirm if it has access to Tegra Zone?

yup, alongwith that, if you could put forth a petition to MMX to bring a revised A85 or whatever their next superfone would be, to have this:

- carry the same internals(processor, ram)
- good 5MP autofocus with 720p video recording and a FLASH
- ICS 4.0.3 stock ROM
- same 15k price tag
 
Ok... i have its younger brother with me and will have this one in 1st week Jan. Takeaway's from a quick hands on. Great build quality , passable cam , Tegra 2 games work really well. The custom launcher looks a bit tacky but performs well , certainly better than TouchWiz ever did :p

Screen... i'm not sure what to make of it. Its definitely one of the better ones in this price range but not too impressive overall. Gingerbread update coming soon... ICS not on the cards. Have put in a suggestion to unlock the bootloader , lets see what happens about that. Some pics below...

And did u discuss about ICS upgrade? At this point no1 really cares about the GB update, if it's even coming, that is.
 
^^ Correct. A75 yea.. not a very nice one that. The A85 feels solid. Way better than the Ace m others. Got a proper metal back to it. ICS , not coming afaik.. Now if it gets an unlocked bootloader we can possibly look at CM7/CM9 on it.
 
^^ If i was looking for something in that price range , yes i would. In fact the only issue i can see here is brand perception. The HW is defo solid. Battery life n all remains to be seen of course but this is what i could judge from a hands on session.
 
hi everyone i purchased the phone from indiaplaza 2 days back so it will be coming soon to me as android 2.2 has got the 2.3 upgrade..
but we all need source code as micromax will not create 4.0 android but micromax is not gonna release source code so easily
wish other brand phone would be at same price
