While Micromax Canvas HD is still selling like hot cakes, its successor Canvas 4 is just around the corner. Micromax has teased the upcoming Canvas 4 in a video on its website and on its Facebook page which will go on pre-orders soon.

Micromax teased the Canvas 4 saying "Can life be endless" and its says that pre-booking will start from 28th June. So we can expect the phone to hit the markets within a month or two.

The specs and pricing is not yet revealed by Micromax. The video shows a glimpse of the device. It has metallic rim on sides and appears to have curved back with glossy textured finish.

We have also spotted a 13MP camera with LED flash on the rear in the video. Other specs which are likely include a Full HD 1080p or 720p HD display, a MT6589T chipset with quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex A7 CPU and 1 or 2GB of RAM. It will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

Last time when Canvas HD went on pre-orders, it was sold out within minutes , CAN the same happen with the Canvas 4 ?

They were showing a teaser on television between the match. The body sure looks good from what was shown. And if it really a worthy successor to Canvas HD then there is no doubt that Canvas would sell much better.

Mostly would help Micromax as a brand I think.

Just saw the ad on Star Cricket HD.. Looks promising. Will definitely sell like hotcakes in India

guys im planning to buy canvas HD ,should i wait for this as new laucnh might make older one get a price cut ?

canvas HD is already @12.5k something so you can wait ^^^

this phone comes with 1.7ghz so i believe that its krait processor as i have not seen any mediatek clocked @1.7ghz (just a wild guess)

Nope it mostly going to be the 1.5ghz Mediatek processor.

I don't see Micromax using good components, if they do use good hardware expect prices equivalent to top manufacturers.

Also Canvas HD is 12.8-13.2kish...

Get ready to be disappointed. This is the CANVAS 4.

Bhai uske liye paise chahiye :( else wait for some good deal in FS thread :inpain:

Its not only money which is in question here. The quality of these handsets is sub par and customer care support non existent. To save few rupees one is taking a gamble by buying these inferior quality handsets. That's the only point i want to make.
May be one should save money and buy when adequate money is available rather than settling for something less. At least that's what i would do.

If I am going to save money for SGS 3 from today, then probably SGS 5 would be in store till the time I get SGS 3 in my hand :bawling:

I am not telling you to save for a specific phone, rather save X amount of rupees that you target and then buy a phone which comes in that price range.
Any ways most of the time people's desires and wants overpower other things.

I have used the Canvas HD, and it seems to be built solidly. Its plastic, but so are the Samsungs, am not aware of the ASS, but I think ASS will be measured a few months down the line when the average age of handsets in market increases.

I doubt Micromax will release a A7 based SOC hardware in 23-25k range in 2013. They very well know that people will not buy it unless its aggressively priced against competitors (S3 and Nexus 4) here, and Snapdragon 400 doesn't do 1.7ghz, so looks like Snapdragon 600 based SOC. I doubt if the SOC's cost a lot, Micromax maybe cutting margins here to get an attractive price.

I guess raksrules also uses a canvas hd.

So do i.

But i consider it nothing more than a temporary replacement phone till nexus 4 is fixed.

It seems to built solidly?

LOL. I'm scared what will happen when it falls and screen breaks, ill have to throw the phone as there is no ASS.

Also laggy, sometimes unresponsive, random restarts, frequent crashes makes it nothing but a standby phone.

i have also played with the canvas hd for a couple of days , its definitely worth it at 13k . build is not that great though. Have done a review also which will be posted soon ..

and i really doubt the article on tech2 saying it will cost 22k or above.. i dont expect it to be more than 18k
