Users of the Microsoft Windows operating systems know that Windows has more than its share of issues. If you are a user of Windows Media Player 11 and have noticed that your tunes don’t stop playing when you close Media Player 11, Microsoft has released a work around that is quite entertaining.

Long time users of Windows know that many errors that occur with Windows typically require you to hit CTRL+ALT+DEL at some point, typically after cursing and seriously considering a change to OS X or Linux.

The irony of a Microsoft workaround that begins with press CTRL+ALT+DEL is too funny to pass up. The complete work around is as follows:

1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL
2. Click Start Task Manager
3. Click the Processes tab
4. Click the wmplayer.exe process
5. Click End Processes and then click End process

The first step is sure to confuse many Windows noobs as they look all around the keyboard for the CTRL+ALT+DEL buttons. Too bad Microsoft didn’t just man up and put out a workaround that said -- 1. Reboot.

What a workaround:rofl: .

I'm using this marvellous workaround while playing NFS MW. When I get busted, I simply use the workaround and kill NFS. Saves my race event and I don't get busted :ohyeah: .

Actually there is another way too.... you can also right click on the Taskbar and left click on Task Manager

Yeah I have always used WMP and I am quite fond of it. But in vista this was always a pain in the ass. What a wonderful solution they have suggested.

So many keys and clicks to close a window, I am sure my mom would be thrilled. And after she learns how to do this maybe I would teach her how to use linux.

I would imagine so! The only problem I have (not really a problem) is that the audio usually continues for half a second after I click pause/stop on flash videos (youtube)

yes wmplayer is pissed off . i shud rather say windows is pissed off. it has loadz of bugs and exploits. This is one of them. i too had the same prob. i have to the task Manager technique. but now i hav just got a patch and applied it. It is now workin fine..
