Microsoft Installer Update?

Recently I tried to install Norton Antivirus 2006 Demo but when i tried to install it gave me a popup saying tat i would have to update the Microsoft Windows Installer Update and after continuing with the update ,it took long time and and ultimately said tat the OS version is wrong .

Wats the problem?

well u tell me....Have u got SP2 installed...also .Net framework ??

Try d/l Windows Installer 3.0 Redistributable directly and run it.

i have not got sp2 could tat be the problem ?

^ Nope that cannot be the problem, but the link i gave is precisely what you require if you dont have sp2 installed, so install it first - reboot and then try installing norton
