Microsoft will be dropping the price on all models of the Xbox 360, starting September 5. The price drops are somewhat substantial, with $50 being cut from the Pro and Elite models of the hardware, and $80 being cut from the Arcade model. That $80 price drop isn't random, it's a carefully plotted move to do one thing: put an Xbox system on the market that is $50 less expensive than the Nintendo Wii.

Here are the new prices for Microsoft's line of systems:

* Arcade (no hard drive) $199

* Pro (60GB) $299

* Elite (120GB) $399

now Sony would be cutting the prices too so now i can finally buy one for my flat here in bangalore:clap: :clap: :hap2: :clap: :clap:

dont think so sony is going to cut prices as they already announced 160gb model at the same original price. also these xbox price cuts will have no effect here in India.

Can were add an internal drive to the arcade model??
If yes then there's no better option than getting a xbox from US and mod it..As it is we'l hav no warranty..:lol:

internal drive as in normal dvd drives? if thats the case, then the answer is no. however u can use drives from other xbox 360 models.

getting an xbox from US there are 99% chances u will get one with liteon drive which cannot be modded. so if u are going to mod the console, no point of getting an xbox from US.

same is the case for psp. psp in US come with newer mobo TA-088v3 which cannot be modded as of yet.
