Hi Friends
I use microsoft outlook 2003.i never stored any contacts so far.But when i write the mail required mail-id's shown in the place of TO address and CC.If i press "a" all the id's pertaining to 'a" will be displayed. Now i have to format the pc for some of the reason. How can i take backup of that mail-id's??.If i take the backup of outlook.pst will that be backed up??.Pls advise

Yes. It will be.

Outlook 2003 indexes all your incoming and outgoing email ids which are present in your mail folders. They don't need to be in your contacts. All that info (index actually) is stored in the data file. Make a copy and you have a complete backup (except rules if any).

backing up .pst will not get your addresses/contacts back.. if you have saved your contacts.. then you will have to backup the .PAB files.. its personal address book.

my bad!.. i thought he wanted to take a backup of the email id (contacts) which come up when we type the first letter .. kinda auto-complete feature. It does need the contacts stored in order to get them..
