Hi guys,

Some of you might have heard that Microsoft has just axed Drive Extender v2 from Vail, for me this means Vail is no longer useful in anyway. :@

Vote to bring back the feature

For those who don't know that DE is, its basically allows you to add HDDs of any size into a single storage pool. It maintains data redundancy by having the data on atleast 2 HDDs at any given time to protect against drive failures!

+1 I also got the same page

Its there. Maybe you both are clicking wrong :P

btw, drive extender or not, WHS is not available here for sale and people here don't have any home servers to buy too. Besides the DIY way, there are no commercial home servers here like the HP's and Drobo's and Acer's file servers available there.

You CAN get the Vail beta from MS

I tried Windows Home server (the earlier version) it looked like Windows 2003 with some add-in softwares slapped onto it :S
