Muh Fable games.
The next Fable game is shutting down — and the influential studio behind it may well be too. Today Microsoft announced that it is cancelling the free-to-play title Fable Legends, which was in development for the Xbox One and PC. The company also says that it is "in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK."
In a surprising blog post Monday morning, Microsoft announced that Lionhead Studios, known in recent years for the Fable franchise, is being shut down. Development is being halted on the long-planned cross-platform multiplayer title Fable Legends. Danish studio Press Play, which was behind Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, is being closed as well.
Microsoft is canceling development of Fable Legends, Lionhead Studios' Xbox One and Windows PC game, and is "in discussions" to close the Fable developer, according to a statement released by Hanno Lemke, general manager of Microsoft Studios Europe.
^wow he contradicted his own actions. Claims to focus on games which fans find exciting and want to play then goes to cancel the game which fans want to play. Sigh. Typical microsoft."These changes are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and want to play," Hanno Lemke, general manager of Microsoft Studios Europe, says.
