I attended the Microsoft DreamSpark Launch today at IITD . We got a DreamSpark DVD loaded with all the software mentioned as well as a key for a dreamspark account. This should be launched within all colleges of India, and several centers should spring up where you can get the DVD + Account by presenting your college ID card.

They are offering Server 2003 SE, not Server 2008 (According to the website.)
Update - The Dreamspark site says Server 2008 whereas Dreamspark India site says Server 2003. I believe they must be giving 2008 only.

u dont get many free antivrus/firewall softwares for Server Editions....and its hard getting backup softwares too...rest shud b fine..
 
the windows 2008 server edition is is just a stripped down version of vista runs all software meant for vista and games too and its valid for a year after registration on the dreamspark site
 
Server 2k8 has its own backup solution. As for firewalls and antiviruses, that depends on the solution you use - anything that works on Vista should work on Server 2k8 except it the vendor explicitly designs this to not be the case (licensing and/or support issues).
