Microsoft Corp. on Tuesday unveiled two desktop mice, one optical and one laser, and upgraded its wireless optical mouse for notebooks.
The mice make use of Microsoft's proprietary "High Definition" technology for enhanced responsiveness and precision and smoother tracking, the Redmond, Wash., company said. Microsoft has sold more than a million units of products using the HD technology since its launch last September.
The desktop mice, the wireless Laser Mouse 5000 and Optical Mouse 2000, feature ambidextrous design. The laser model also has a magnifier button for enlarging any section of the screen and a tilt wheel that makes navigating and viewing spreadsheets and documents easier.
The Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 is currently available and sells for $30. The Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 is expected to ship in late April, and sell for $50. The Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 is set to ship in June and cost $30
