Well, not a surprise. Android Wear, iWatch and now MS-Watch or Lumia Watch or Asha Watch. Ya ay. Redmond also decided to throw in their player.

Microsoft will this fall release a Samsung Gear Fit-like fitness band that will display smart phone-based notifications, just like the current and rumored watches and other wearables

This is interesting though

It will work with everything and not just the device maker's smart phone platform.

Well, Microsoft is known to be a part of something before taking things apart. If you guys remember the lawsuit era allegations.
