Cnet Review's

The good: The Microsoft Zune has very good playback performance of audio, video, and photos; intuitive and colorful interface; good FM radio with RDS; works well with Zune Marketplace software; integrated wireless allows sharing of songs (limited) and photos; many accessories available at launch.

The bad: The Microsoft Zune is not backward compatible with WMA-DRM9; weak native video support (cannot play protected content) and no video offerings from Zune Marketplace; cannot be used as a hard drive (and no UMS support); proprietary USB; cannot use Wi-Fi to sync, stream, or purchase content; minimal bundled accessories; no podcast directory; maximum capacity is 30GB.

The bottom line: The Microsoft Zune, with its intuitive interface and solid playback performance, will please most users. But lukewarm format support and the cool but limited Wi-Fi capability will have advanced users seeking more. The Zune is a very good start, though.

lets say you buy gold or shares for 100$ tmr the price goes up to 200$ will you still sell it for 100$?

Yup... he does lie about it... it's not one month old - its much more older than a month

I like the fact that he has not posted some heavily biased review but one where the negatives are clearly mentioned.

Just wanted to ask, but can the Zune at all be used as an HDD ?

Is this the same Zune you bought from KMD?

Hey NeViLLe ya its the one i bought from KMD i got it for 5800/- + shipping and have only used it a couple of times and since then its been lying in the box untouched. Its in its perfect condition and i am not gonna sell it lower than 5500/- and would also give the buyer 3 days of testing warranty and can return it back if he is not satisfied with the product.

PS - stop crapping threads if your not interested in it plz stay out of it...

Probably MS was tired of its WMA DRM getting cracked again and again

Video support has improved in v 2

Who'd download video from marketplace :P

If you want a hard drive...get a laptop drive, it will be insulting to zune if you use it to transfer data.

Ipod has proprietary USB too..

I use Wifi to sync to my machine

Accessories? what all do you need...charger/sync cable and headphones. Zune 2 comes with premium headphones.

There is podcast feature...and its excellent

Zune 2 has a 80 GB version. check that.

Its an excellent deal. Snakey...put me in queue if there is one. Otherwise am picking it up. would be nice to have some pics though :)

Yes, it can be used as a HDD but it needs certain registry and other changes on the host machine! So if you wanna transfer stuff from Machine A to B using Zune as HDD, then u need to have changes on both A and B which sucks IMO

Its just for copying files from Zune to machine. For the other way round its more complex and idiotic ;)

Anywayz i've owned a Zune before and it was simply great with its gorgeous screen(In this price band)
