Hey Guys,
I'm looking for a cam that has the advanced features of a DSLR and easy usability of a point and shoot.
I won't be buying any extra lenses.
Budget - 10-20K

I wanted to get a DSLR (Nikon D3200) but its a little complex for my parents to use!

Appreciate any suggestions!!
Also any idea which shop in Mumbai is reliable and cheap?? :P

Thanks & Cheers,
Sanket

Midway between PnS and DSLR gets you a Superzoom ..
or
Get the highend Canox IXUS ~15k+ ..

Did some research. Narrowed down to 2 options:
Sony HX200V
Rs. 19,350 @ tradus

Nikon Coolpix P510 Point & Shoot
Rs. 18,630 @ tradus

Are there any other cheaper options which are lighter/thinner?

as suggested bykreacher,
get sony NEX5, no idea about the exact price, its listed for 23k on flipkart (though outta stock)

What do you expect from a camera? pick one of these.
1) zoom range
2) good quality images in low light

for 1) any superzoom is fine
for 2) go for something like a canon s95 or olympus xz-1. They are previous gen and hence can be found at the 20k price.

The Panasonic FZ47/Fuji HS30 have controls/features that are comparable to entry level dslr's though they are over your budget by 5k or so.

for me, major drawback for the NEX5 was that the flash needed to be attached manually!

NEX5 is a brilliant performer in low light condition. Most of the enthusiast/pro photographers do not prefer to use Flash (except may be for potrait/family)
