Millionaire destroys his Lamborghini in revenge

Yes, saw this in another forum. He could have given it to me. :( I would have kept it even if it was a lemon. :bleh:

Is Han the only name that people have in China?? :S

And in any case, this Han must have been super crazy. Imagine what he would do if his wife were to have an affair with sumone else!! :P

Plus, I think this (nutter) Han needs to get his definitions right. This is not Revenge. It is Masochism. :|

It would have been revenge had this (nutter) Han destroyed a Lamborghini Showroom or something. I bet he'll strangle his kids if they ever fall ill...

Now THAT is what I call "putting a dent" in the company's image.

All the forums across the world are on fire discussing what this guy did. He might be the most sane guy yet.

Think about it

Lambo refused to sort out his problems. The car had been having engine trouble and apparently wasn't fixed even after a visit to the dealer. In fact the car came back with a few new problems which weren't there before it was sent to the dealer. The guy has tried talking to everyone at Lambo & their dads' and no one did anything about it. They sold him a lemon. A $500,000 - 750,000 lemon. How mad would you be?

I don't know about you guys, but when I buy something (cars, technology, anything) and it shows me signs of not working the way it should, or it has a dent or a scratch or anything else that can minimize my experience with it, I no longer have the same level of enthusiasm about it that I had at the time of buying it.

My entire experience from researching about it, to deciding to buy it and finally actually buying it, is all tainted by one problem. At that point of time my anger and resentment is towards the company that changed my perception of something that I was very passionate about.

Most of us "normal people" would just suck it up and try and cut our losses by selling it to someone else or go the long and excruciatingly painful routeof suing the company that did us the injustice.

This guy could afford to send a very expensive message to Lambo that has reached far and wide and that is definitely detrimental to their image. I can only imagine how many potential buyers are thinking twice about buying a Lambo now.

^ I agree.

Think about it, this guy is a millionaire and obviously he has lots of money to spend since he bought a Lambo. His car isn't working the way it should, so he's already lost his money. Turning his multimillion $ car into a rubble of scrap metal was his way of showing Lambo is shit. :P

It's all about the image. One would be put off by hearing such stories and keep future customers away.

Lamborghini and Ferrari have a cult following... And one '[Made in China] Han' cannot create a dent in the image for Lamborghini.
In fact, it might just do the opposite...

Would you stop buying/using Intel processors if one nutter were to come out on the streets and hammer his faulty i7 980X?? Obviously not... :P

I beg to differ. The cult following you are reffering to is the masses that probably could never afford to buy a Lambo in their lifetime. You'd be surprised at the indifference of the people who have the actual potential to buy these cars. For them it's more about their public image and has very little to do with the actual machine or the history of the company. They couldn't care less. It might be a dream to people like you and me, but to them, it's just another car.

This whole incident was not so much about the fact that there was a problem with the car, but at how badly the company responded to the situation. After plonking down almost a million USD that's not how he should have been treated. Lambo was created out of the frustration that it's founder felt when he was given shoddy treatment by Ferrari service and the shaft by Enzo Ferrari. You'd think that a company with that kind of history would know how to treat their customers better.

This is a known problem with luxury car makers and their lower grade of service & support offered to customers in developing nations.

About your Intel analogy. You can't really comapre mass market companies to niche market companies. The analogies won't stick. However there have been several cases where certain builds or steppings of processors have been known to be faulty and as such everyone with the knowledge of it avoided them like the plauge. Besides if there was a problem with your processor, Intel would take care of it unlike Lambo which didn't give it's customer the same courtesy.

I can understand the feeling of this guy.
A similar incident happened with me too, i bought a GTS250 and that came out to be faulty, send it for rma and got the same gpu back without any accessories that i send. Send it back again through the person i bought it from, this time again the same faulty gpu was returned to me after more than a months wait, that too wrapped in a newspaper :@
Broke it to pieces in front of the shop owner. Felt good, really good :ohyeah:
Then got myself HD5850.

NEVER.

The image of the carmaker has been dented along with that crumpled up can which was a Lamborghini.

I bet many people will remember the case of Rolls Royce being made to fetch garbage by an Indian Maharaja.

he is still a milionaire, he will get another one:P
Most probably another Lamborghini... :P

Hell, the Chinese might even start making duplicate Lamborghini Gallardos and name them Yin Zeng Jiallanto or something stupid like that!!

I'll start a [GO] if they start selling them on Focalprice or Dealextreme... :bleh:

I strongly doubt you work for Focalprice / Deal extreme. You always talk about starting a [GO] :-/

@satan - completely agree with you man !

If i were in Han's shoes then this is how i'd send Lambo a message

First: Steam-roll the car with Chinese Type 99 tank
Second: Crush the remnants using a large trash compactor
Third: Catch everything on tape and deliver the metal cube to Lamborghini's HQ in Sant'Agata Bolognese along with a note that says This is what junk should look like

The guy even seemed to have notified the CEO Winkelmann on these issues. This news has made it to several websites, media coverages and even Wiki! Way to go Lamborghini!

Brilliant customer support!

Yep. He definitely showed Lambo what he thinks about their product... Junk!

This still pales in comparision to what one of our own did

In 1930, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh felt slighted at the British Rolls Royce company’s refusal to accept an order from him for a new Rolls Royce car. Reacting to the refusal, the Maharaja put some of his old Rolls Royce cars to work hauling garbage, dung and filth in Patiala city to the chagrin of the all-powerful Rolls Royce-loving Viceroy and the British ruling establishment who quickly prevailed upon the Rolls Royce Company to comply with the Maharaja’s wishes.

Now that is something that Rolls Royce wouldn't want going down in history. Too bad it already is part of history and this happened in the 1930's!

Imagine how long what Han did is going to circulate, given that he pulled off this stunt in the information age.

PS: I read somewhere else that this was a used car, as in the owner bought it from someone else. Do you think there might be another side to this story?

As i mentioned.. i didn exactly remembered which Maharaja it was (Patiala Or Bikaner).. but i def cud recall it was Rolls Royce.

Game.. Set .. Match :)
