Mini Preview-Gears of War for PC and F.E.A.R. Persues Mandate
I have lots of writing for these past days and I hope it pays off!!! As usual would like any scope of improvement in writing previews and reviews
[BREAK=Gears of War]
As its heart a straightforward blood-and-thunder shooter, Gears of war is designed to be played co-operatively, with you and a monkey (that’s my alternate word for in-game AI). As ultra macho military marine, you must take on the locusts-giant, gun-toting, sub-terranean humanoids who pop-up unannounced and try to pop a cap in your muscled-booty.
There is a new level (and you thought-hey what’s the difference between Xbox 360’s version, so did I) which is titled as Jurassic Proportions. There are 5 levels which includes the one I mentioned above.
Little that’s having been announced about this pc version. It could be declared as pc exclusive in my opinion considering 5 more chapters in the pc version. They did mention that there will be a boss battled which was made for x-360’s version but then dropped-for unknown reason. With all of the 360’s motion blur and depth-of-field effects joining a higher particle count, GOW is more than the complete article on PC. But that doesn’t make it immune to the microscopic scrutiny of being played at close monitor. The game was primarily built for sofas, joy pads and HDTV so the doubt will remain if this game can be included with the great fps games, especially the new version of ut coming out. While monstrously high pc resolutions and mouse/keyboards controls are selling points, but they feel more like compensation then an advantage.
PC always has advantage over console about FPS, but certain games did question PC’s so-called dominance over consoles. This could be a great game to buy, however time will tell and it will be released this November. Epic Games’ “stop-and-pop†masterpiece arrives on PC (this dialogue brings me de ja vu experience from Halo), with more places to stop and bigger bugs to pop. Keep an eye on Gears of war pc version, because even though I highlighted certain doubts, these might be a good game to play on pc. Gears of war was highlighted in a huge way for 360’s launch which gave a bragging rights (to some) that some people are buying 360 for gears of war, however as usual, patience is a virtue-and here it comes. Gears of war was a stunning announcement of Epic’s talent on console games, full of insight, spectacle and, most importantly, flying guts. Now, with the added spices on the pc version (maybe more then what I was mentioned), it can get even better.

[BREAK=F.E.A.R: Persues Mandate]
It’s unknown!! It’s sinister!! Anything could happen at any moment! Yes, the development situation behind F.E.A.R. is as twisted as the game itself. The development situation of the original, Monolith, are making their own version of the sequel, but since Sierra owns the rights to the name, so they tasked timegate with making of EXTRACTION POINT, the fist expansion, and now this. I am confused when I heard about this.
Instead of doing the usual expansion gimmick with the title, Perseus mandate, some of the indoor are more like repetitions which was used from the first game. Timegate are fighting against this with larger outdoor areas then before, and a slim six hour run time. So you scratch your head and say “say what?â€
Other then the usual “Gol maal hai sab gol maal hai†publicity stunt, there’s also something rather horrid called a shade, a supernatural beastie, who just can’t get enough tasty human flesh and blood (be careful when you say “I am a hardcore non-veg†next time-especially to a person who just played F.E.A.R.). It exists only in shadows-purely an original idea since lakme invented the sun screen lotion in India. So you will be nervously scanning dark corners (no the beast is not a girl) with your torch and trying to switch on the room lights as fast as you can, fighting the enemy and the environment, which reminds me an old movie (not so old).
New weapons include a launcher which fires bouncy grenades (they were previously dud balls signed by Maria sharponova)-perfect for those enclosed spaces-and a chain lightning gun (looks as if they ripped the idea from Quake 3: team arena and combined chain gun and lightning gun together) which fires streaks of blue energy, knocking the wind out of unfortunate idiots. If you like sniping, then a laser scoped rifle ought to satisfy your GUNS AND AMMO thirst. The scope cuts through smoke and dust-filled areas. So you wouldn’t be out of more guns which you will be wasting majority of the time shooting in the dark. Perseus mandate looks more like the original and that’s the bottom-line. It looked great back then but now it may not if your one of those graphic perverts. If your technology fetishist, then CRYSIS is the game for you, However if gritty, gory bloody shoot outs with slo-mo and high-tech horror on the fps then you might be able to do a lot worse on the new dose of F.E.A.R
