Android MIUI (6) and Google Play Store & Amazon Appstore

I'm thinking of getting the Xiaomi Mi 4i. However I'm confused about Google Play Store & Amazon Appstore.

With MIUI6 do they work exactly as they do on, say, stock Android ( auto updates etc ) ?

All applications will work the same as they were programmed to.So yes it is same as on stock android.

Will Play Store & Appstore themself get updated ?
Does MIUI6 come with Play Store preinstalled or does the user have to download a apk etc ?

play store is preinstalled and will definitely get updated...MIUI is just like a skin over the stock android and nothing else.
