MKVinfogui not running

Hello all,

I am trying to open mkvinfo.exe, but It doesn't run. Instead a cmd window opens with an error and closes itself. I used to use it regularly 2-3 months back to view mkv details, haven't used it recently and when I tried to run mkvinfo.exe today this happens. Am I missing something?

I need to check mkv file for header compression as my wdtv doesn't support it.

Dude, mkvinfo.exe is only the command line executable. Use mmg.exe. That's the GUI frontend for mkvinfo.exe. ;)

I love mkvtoolnix, great tool. :D
 
I have found out, how to run mkvinfogui. You run mkvinfo.exe from command prompt with -g option, it opens mkvinfo gui. Can I do any thing to run it directly by clicking on a Icon or shortcut?
 
Have you installed mkvtoolnix?

In start menu>Mkvtoolnix there is mkvinfo gui.

Or just create a shortcut for the mkvinfo.exe on your desktop.

Right click and go to properties. Go to shortcut tab and in target, put -g at the end of the line.
 
I have not installed it, I use as executable archive. But, I will try the shorycut option. Thanxx.
