i took my LG c2500 for yet another trip to the authorised service center for some complaints (firmware hanging .. random shutdowns .. the usual:P)

And the guy asked " do you upload mp3's and images ?"

I said "yes"(duh, why do you think i bought a phone with 60MB for?)

and he suddenly became very smug and said, "no wonder, your phone got infected by a virus"

I was like :S :@

heck, my system has NEVER been infected by a virus.. adware/spyware maybe:ashamed: , but never a virus( i just use my pc sensibly and safely:) )

i told him i ran my pc on Linux and there could be no chance in hell it could have caught a virus :bleh:

EDIT: i actually use XP, but just wanted to see the look on his face when i said the L word :ohyeah:

he was stumped and mumbled something back :D

but seriously can a windows virus affect a mobile fone?( i know that they are different s/w and h/w platforms , and mine isnt even a smartfone :D, but still , is there any chance ?)

i still cant stop laughing my @$$ off.... a virus  and that too infecting my mobile

loled.. no ways can u put in a windows virus into ur cellphone,
the only viruses available for cellphone are for the symbian OS, and i dont think your phone uses that...
Most probably the guy is trying to con u to make some money... just tell him to upgrade the firmware :P

money money money boogyman is what he is.
i say give him a slap lol.

if its not symbian it wont catch virus, so until unless you have nokia "normally uses symbian" which works slow , thats a virus :P.

lemme get in a lil detail symbian catches virus because it leds applications to access its core system files just like windows, whereeas other stuffs dont it only uses java based applications which you can install in a predefinied amount of memory.
