15-20K Mobile for sister

A relative asked me to sell her old iphone 6s which only fetched 4300 so now I am sure the next request would be to buy a new phone. I know she can't go anywhere above 7~8k at this point in time so instead we decided to gift her a phone. Ofc we can't gift an expensive IPhone but an android in range of 15~20k would work.

Requirement - I have no idea but assuming a good camera/screen would be her choice, Samsung phone would be a safer bet but I am open to other suggestions. (Her second phone is an android so switching OS is not an issue)

P.S. She is handicap so her interaction to the world is her mobile.

See, Samsung phones are great, and so is the UI. They have come a long way.

HOWEVER

Their sub-20 K phones are garbage. That's just a fact. They will slow down eventually to a point where you'll regret buying one.

My suggestion would be the Mototrola Edge 60 Fusion, if you can ignore extremely delayed OS updates.

IF she is mostly using phone for calling, YouTube & Social Media than, Samsung is best for her.
Stock Android good (little bit fast compare to Samsung UI).
Stock Android very good for tech person or person who use phone other than just for calling, YouTube & Social Media

Called her today and randomly asked about brand preference and she mentioned Samsung and Moto, even though I was considering one+ or nothing phone but the phone is for her.

You described her perfectly, she wouldn't bother about security updates or other stuff (Whastsapp, Youtube and calling, sometimes camera)

I think now we should focus on these 2 brands

I would definitely suggest moto edge fusion 60 or nothing pro 2 again she maybe does not know about nothing or knows its not in her budget . ui scamsung moto and nothing are best, issue is budget scamsung gets neglected and don't get any updates or unoptimised update and they will start lagging in year or so, no fast charger in box, decent 3rd party fast charger would literally cost her 2k or more, if you have insta, whatsapp and youtube open in background even calls would start lagging, phone will rings no display,

i have used multiple brands phone over all budgets ,scamsung even has ads in its ui in budget segment.

only issue i think with moto is while the curve display looks premium it makes it hard to apply screen protector and display is prone to break when phone slips out of hand.

i would still suggest moto or nothing or nord 4-5ce( after july 8 should come in your budget)

go with Samsung she will be happy and you will not regret anything + Samsung 4-5 Android Updates & Security updates, make her happy every time her phone update with new Android.
Moto is not good in update, she will be bored soon with Stock Android and it may force you again to sell/exchange and hunt for new.

sorry for hijacking the thread. I am also planning to get something for my dad in same price range. moto edge 60 fusion seems good. but then updates for 2 years only. but then again, he breaks phone every 3 to 4 years so I think it will be good. same can be the case for the sister.

3 Major os updates and 4 years of security patch, should be enough for 6 years or more, most apps will supports only banking apps may stop support after 6 -7 years.

where did you get this only 2 years support?
