mobile internet?

i was wondering about the options for mobile internet in india, specifically in chennai. i was looking at using my phone and hutch gprs initially along with my laptop but afaik it's very expensive. are there any other solutions for internet on the go for laptop users (excluding wi-fi hotspots of course)? thanks in advance.
 
Airtel has/had a mobile office plan for some 699/mo, which worked for me in the south during 2005-06. I believe they now have an unlimited plan and the speeds have improved.
 
airtel now has that net on phone in chennai which costs about Rs.99/- only . check that out. the cc said that you can browse all sites but no downloads, not sure how that works.
 
airte prepaid users can recharge for Rs.375/- and get unlimited internet access for one month, on their mobile phone(can use as gprs modem also i guess)....
 
the price is different is different areas. in kerala its ony 250.

u can aso look at the reliance or tata data cards

this sounds good.. does it come with some talktime for the phone as well? my friend was telling me that in bombay, it's 7 bucks a day for unlimited gprs. i think it's 20 a day in chennai.
