mobile phone - LG U8110 problems

hello techies & friends , I need your help :

my cousin got a LG U8110 from UK .
it is fully unlocked to work in India .
it was working fine for about a week .

1. now he is able to hear others voice on the phone .
his voice is not reaching them .
he was advised to take the SIM card out , and give it a clean ,
and see if this helps. It did help him for a while ,
but only for a short time .

2. he tried to upload the mobile images to a pc ( win 2000 server
based OS on a single pc ) . he is getting " SHARING VIOLATION "
error . The phone was in idle condition & the drivers are fully loaded .

could you help please ...

did somthing happen to the phone..like it fell down or hit smwhere also check if there is a mute option smwhere in the settings..

Also try to look for smthing like restore to factory settings
 
Yeah I have a feeling he's got mute switched on his phone, or he's messed up his phone settings. If his voice can't reach someone else, tell him to have his mouthpiece checked out and tell him to go through his settings.

As for the sharing violation thing, I have a feeling it's due to a firewall or secuirty setting in the PC.

sorry , I've taken more days to report back .

My cousin is sure that he has not dropped it .& we

have found no mute setting available on the mobile .

it is working fine sometimes ! refusing sometimes ...

Regarding Sharing Violation, the system has no firewall .

I would like to know the security settings in Win 2000

server based OS . I confess my ignorance . please help ...

it is a UK phone right ?? Are you sure u used the right charger to charge to phone ?? If u used the charger that came with the phone ( from UK ) then 100% chance that it has damaged some circuit... Electricity is supplied in UK and India at different freq and voltage... I know that in this case the charger should get damaged first but u can never be sure about these gadgets.

not 100% chance....most phone chargers are SMPS (not transfromer based) and can switch automatically between 100-220 V AC

though if it is tranformer based, strong chance that what you have said maybe true
 
Thank you all for your interest in this problem .

The charger is " LG Travel Adapter " with input 100 - 240 V .

And it is slim . I assume that it has a SMPS inside .

if Mic is problematic , a local service center is asking Rs 600+

to replace it . does it worth ... ?

your views please .

this is the required solution for the mic problem from other community forums
I'm also using LG U8110 from Australia. Most of the U8110 sets had this problem. This is is manufacturing defect The mic gasket is made loose, so the mic slips away from its place and it looses its contact with the board. Go to a mobile reair shop and tell him to glue the mic. so that it does'nt slip away from its contacts on board.

And now the mic has been fixed and mobile is working fine .
But when we try to transfer mobile images to PC, Sharing Violation still occuring . any solution for this please
