How to Check?
Android: Settings>About phone>Status>Signal strength
iOS: Youtube

and my dolphin sim is giving constant -95

Having a repeater nearby means the equivalent of a mini tower. Tradeoff between radiation between phone or tower?

Those readings are not the same, meaning 91 dBm for 3G is not as bad as 91dBm for 2G.

and it changes again with 4G.

In general you want to rely on the about phone way of measuring strength.

Could hit only up to 2mbps with that signal range.. When its 75dBm 3G its hits 8mbps.

Thats five times stronger, uh yeah it will be faster...

Point is how low has your signal got to be to drop on 3g ? higher than 2g.

The figures are not equivalent when the g changes. You can hold on to weaker higher g signals but you pay the price with battery. Device heats up as well.
