Mobiles for 7-8k - Mp3+FM+no Camera+Ext. Memory

Hi! fellas,

I'm looking for a new phone which should have a mp3 player+FM with expandable memory. I do not want in-built camera. budget arnd 7-8k.
 
Z550i from SE has mp3, fm, and inbuilt 25mb, with expandable option. It has a decent 2 MP camera too. Cost is around 8k. The FM isn't great indoors. I feel Nokia has better radio reception.I might be wrong though. I have the Z550i and its pretty good. Compact, and unlike Nokia's brick sized mobiles :D . The screen is vibrant and very clear.
 
Since you mentioned that cam is not a priority, then go for the W300i!!

There's no phone in the sub-10K category (barring W550i, but that has no mem card slot) that even comes close to the sound quality on this!!
 
since you mentioned the w300, z530i also deserves a mention , the w300 being a pimped out version of the z530i:P

also, its significantly cheaper :)

Edit : Hmm wait , it doesnt have FM :(

btw, i dont think it makes the cut , but the LG C 2600 has 128 MB of memory(integrated tho :ashamed:), and has fm, and costs 6k only :D
 
6131 is a cool phone i agree, and has the loudest sound i have heard coming from a cell phone speaker..
but his budget is 8k :)

dude have a look at the new 3rd version series 40 and surely u will love it., also full screen

support for ur videos ., v.v.v. loud loud speaker and qvga crisp display like seen on motos, bigger screen size than 6630 ., first nokia fone which i am impressed with at a low budget range ., when myself belong to anti nokia rally.

and not to mention the cool side switch to open and close the flap stylishly.

if ur budget permits go for 6131., seconds u will get around 7.8k ., and it comes along 512 mb tflash too.

^^^Z530i isn't a bad option but it lacks the foll. when compared to W300i:

-No EDGE

-NO FM

-Inferior Sound/Mp3 quality

-No bundled mem. card (Not sure of this..Pls check)

My vote goes to W300i..Even though flip phone/clamshells don't appeal to me..but this one's pretty neat & much better looking than most of the others..

i agree that it doesnt have teh w series mp3 player, but the hardware is the same , so how does the sound quality vary?

it has a bundled 64M card, of which only 20M you can use

Viking have good offer for K750i, asking Rs.8000/- (+-) with 5 months gurantee left. contact him, he is too from Mumbai.
 
I agree W300i/Z550i seems to be the best buy within this budget. If you can extend your budget by 1k then there's nothing like Samsung X700.
 
x700 the interface ., the mp3 quality and also the fm and cam all are much below par except the dislay which is brilliant
 
what part do you mean. i didnt say that a 64MB card wasnt used , i meant only 20 MB can be acessed.

File manager, memory size. Up to 20Mb of space is accessible for the user; he can store some data, files (photos, video and applications) here. The rest of memory is occupied by the preinstalled applications that cannot be removed. Also some part memory is allocated for such functions as a phonebook, calls list etc

EDIT : oops, that was from the 24M shared memory ... My bad :ashamed:

should have figured that 44M was way too much for preinstalled apps to hog.... 4M is typically more like it.
