Main concern is about expansion capabilities (sata ports and expansion slots). The 770 chipset based motherboards seem ideal for my needs but I am not sure about their availability and price.

U have a separate budget for RAM?

If u want to have USB 3.0 in the mobo then get this,

Gigabyte 785GMT-USB3~5.5k(not sure abt the availability of the 880G giga mobos. If so choose according to pricing and unlocking capability)

MSI 880GMA-E45~5.7k

If u do not want USB3.0 etc... Then,

Gigabyte 785GMT-US2H~4.5k

MSI 7885GM-E51~4.1k

I've already got ram(edited first post). Problem with the matx mobos is that I'll lose one PCI slot for the gfx card and since I'll almost definitely be getting a sata card(already need 6 of them which is what most mobos now come with), I won't be able to add a sound/tuner cards etc.

Few motherboards that I've liked (no idea about pricing/availability though);

Havent seen this mobos listed in any of the dealer's website or other prominent online PC Components retail sites in India. Sunny27 was saying that MSI 770 mobos were available in Prime. But not listed in their site.

Since you have ddr2 ram--I would suggest this board-MSI 770T-c45 it has ddr2 support and costs 2800rs shipped from Prime ABGB - Lamington Road Mumbai (its in stock).The board is a full atx board so you don;'t have to worry about expansion slots and it does unlock the cores on the 550/555 BE. All in all a good board for what you have in mind.

Call up prime ABGB - 022-23855500
