Hello, I cant decide whether to buy modded xbox 360 or unmodded !! I wanted to buy unmodded but cant afford to buy original games. So will be playing pirated games. Also i am worried about rrod !! So plz help me out. I am from pune. So any one from pune knows where to buy latest modded xbox 360 and its price !!
 
I would always go with an unmodded console...buy 1 game but atleast pay the guys who make excellent games what they deserve.

Plus your x360 be safe....as you have warranty :)

Also nowadays you may find lots of x360 games cheap too.Ofcourse that wont include the exclusives and new games...
 
I understand the affordability problem but going modded you stand to lose more money if the console dies. Get the unmodded one you have 3 years warranty to cover the RROD problem.

The prices of the core version is Rs 19990 currently. You will need to shell out 2K on a memory card and 1.6k if you need the VGA cable. You can also get the PS3 at the same price point. The earlier Rs 14990 offer on the 360 has been withdrawn.

Hello but wht about the rrod problem ?? Wht measures can i take to avoid it. Also i heard tht the new batch of xbox 360 are less prone to rrod. So where can i check whether it is from a new batch or not when buying a modded xbox ??
 
well that is u can check by looking at the date...chances are 90%..its old lot.....

and RROD....well dont worry use it to max....if it occurs get it repaired with 2500 or fix it yourself....
 
Buy a PS3 if u want to play original games as 360 just has 1-2 years in comparision to the PS3 which has 4-5 years left

But, if you're a little cheapsatke the no shame to go ahead and buy a modded 360. Make sure u get a Falcon, and do not get a core model and if you're scared of RRoD then there are some mods available out there which can prevent RRoD and even on top of the if you take care of your consoles like ur girlfriends, nothing will ever happen.

Please note : Don't play a next gen console without an HDTV.

Aman while the 2010 estimate you gave for a future gen console is right to an extent it does not mean the PS3 will last longer. I'm sure both the companies would want the developers to make full use of the current hardware before moving on to a new iteration of hardware.

The advantage you have with the xbox 360 is it can be connected to an lcd monitor as well with the help of a vga cable. Also second hand 360 games can be fetched for a lot cheaper.

What goes for the PS3 is it can function as a standalone computer and has bluray. But the 3rd party games are a little expensive. Again you got to like the exclusives offered for a console, else no use buying it, it will lie around catching dust.
 
^^^...ps3 can be connected to ur lc monitor...cheaper too.....just need a hdmi to dvi connector...
 
I queried at audio place,MG Road,Pune about a modded xbox 360. He quoted me around 23k. Also he told tht it will be an ntsc model. This means tht original games bought here wont run coz they are pal. So i insisted to get modded pal xbox 360. He told me tht modded pal xbox 360 have problems running all pirated games. He told only 25 % pirated games would run on it ! Is it true ?? Coz i want my xbox 360 to fully run both pirated and original games. Plz reply ASAP.
 
23k is too high.

You can buy NTSC original games from "Play Asia". They are also available at some Indian outlets if I am not wrong.

If you want a PAL console, buy it and hunt for similar guys who would mod it for you for a price.
 
23K is too high and not worth the risk. As for games if you can afford to wait a month or two after a game release you can fetch the originals at much lower prices (second hand).
I'm getting a core tomorrow as I find the premium (pro) priced way too high at Rs 27900.

are you sure coz the core is still available at same places for 14990. even buyoriginalms.com has core for 14990 and pro for 23990. IMO spending 19990 on core is useless.
 
dharmil the buyoriginal guys have not modified the frontpage. When you click the link the prices quoted by all the dealers is 19900 for the core and 27K for the premium.

I agree the current price is unattractive to say the least as it positions the core against the PS3. But since I'm more inclined towards the xbox 360 I have to choose the cheapest on offer so its the core for me.
