Hi. I'll be booking for new broadband connection tomorrow. So, before booking, I need to confirm if my old internal PCI modem works with broadbands or not. If not, I need to buy one from ISP. It's nearly five years old. Please let me know if any other details are required. Thanks.
PS: I've added a pic of the modem.

PS: It's name is lite-on D 1156. It uses Agere drivers.

dude... Tell us the broadband that you have choosen i.e airtel, mtnl. All the broadband suppliers will provide ASDL modem.

Your internal modem will not work for sure. You will have to get the modem supplied by the service provider. All you need is a LAN card in your PC.

Airtel provides modem for free now adays.. why do you have to buy it???

Just chase that crap outta your pc. Its no more needed. No one will buy it even if you give it for free.

Gone are the days of narrowband which alone will work with this.

I will be getting BSNL broadband. As you've said, i'll get BSNL modem. There is onboard Lan in my mobo. Thank you.
