Modem Query for BSNL BB Connection?

I am applied for BSNL-UL 750+, for modem they offer Rs 1000/- for outright purchase or Rs 50 for monthly rent and Rs 250/- for installation charges.

Is it possible to use other brand modems (that brought from shops ourselves) for using the BSNL broadband connection?

If anybody use like this please suggest me a modem for the bang for the buck!!!!!
 
the modem that the bsnl people give is the cheapest available and is actually very good. i dont think u need to look for something else
go purchase that for 1000. or if u need the type 2 get that for 1600.
i have been using the same since 2007.no issues at all
 
Ask them for the Wifi Router Cum Modem, they sell it for something 1600 or 1800 Rs.. Get it, install it yourself as it's not the brainy thing... If possible, ask for Huewei WA1003A router, it's very very good.. I'm using it..

Secondly, yes.. Other modems/routers can work with BSNL connection.. You can go ahead and use them :)

yes possible cos when my uncle applied for connection they said ur connection might delay cos we dont have modem in stock. so my uncle arrange modem himself and they install connection
