sadly an initial hiccups for new member. this is to keep a check on spamming by users and bots. Once you cross the threshold, its a smooth sail.
Whenever mods come online, they go through posts to approve / delete.

That makes sense but I think the account age should also be considered to prevent the bots/spam. I don't talk much but sometimes I do like to and by the time my post is approved, the message gets lost in the long thread.
I've been here for almost a year now but I still feel demotivated to take part in conversations because of this.

Threshold is a year or minimum number of posts needed. I can check with the admin and other mods if 1 year is too long and could we reduce on it.
No guarantees but let's see

Its too long I think.
I am also facing same issue can't even post any sale threads as I have to post just so that I can post a thread.
Now how to find article to post to when it takes 12 hour just for approval.

I think they should also show this part when you hover on the marketplace.
As I thought that you only need 5 trophy points just to post in the marketplace and now when I have 8 items to sell I am stuck posting on threads.
I have to go to guidelines and then I found out I need to post for the ability to post.
 
You either need to be a member for over a year OR you need to be a member with posts and member over a month. When you cross either of these thresholds, it takes about a day to process and move you into the next user group in the ladder. After which your posts stop getting into moderation queue.

Do comments in threads count towards posts?
