Monitors Monitors for Macbook

Hello TE members.

My brother is an iOS developer and is currently using a 1080p 60hz external monitor for his macbook pro and M1.
He has plans to upgrade to a 4k monitor later (Preferably 144hz but no gaming).

Also, is there any new monitors that supports HDMI 2.1 or is there any other way to get 4K 144hz?

So, Any suggestions on new monitor? Thanks.

I checked out the Samsung Odyssey G7 and Gigabyte M28u. Both have HDMI 2.1 right ?

my bad. I was talking about dp any ways, check out a monitor with usb c : https://www.displayninja.com/usb-c-monitor-list/
this will help him a lot. also if he can wait then ask him to wait for monitors with dp 2.1 and so as this will increase usability cases.

No. It's only preferred if we can get a good deal since 4k is not cheap anyway.

Even if it's only for scrolling, I do say it makes a difference imho.

For macbooks you should look at the Alt DP support. I think the Odessy G7 can do that.
