Development costs and currency pressures push game prices skywards
Consumers will pay more than expected for new game releases this Q4, as the weak pound and record development costs force publishers to increase trade prices.

Activision has confirmed that the eagerly-awaited Modern Warfare 2 will carry a hefty RRP of £54.99 – and retailers have been warned that other publishers are likely to follow suit

thanks to the obnoxious night vision gogles screw that , i wonder how much will the normal edition costs ?? anything till 1000 is kewl
 
Well I'm ready to pay that much for Prestige edition if it makes here without any cuts. As quoted, Prestige edition is supposed to contain a pair of actual working Night Vision gogs on Soap MacTavish's head.

I seriously doubt it if they r going to give that here as the Siwan MP Shahbuddin was jailed on numerous counts and one of them was possessing NVG.

you say it as if the price of the game in india will mirror the rest of the world. it might be on the expensive side of things but it will still have regional pricing like every other game that releases here.... i'm guessing 1299 for the pc and ~3k for the consoles. if someone wants to import the collector's edition with the nvg, he doesn't get to complain about the price.

+1 for pc price .. at max it will be around 1800-2000 bucks .. but I dont think that console versions will be cheaper as they are imported and more often than not price reflects the $$ price..

Sigh! was thinking of preordering this game on steam so that i can play it on Day-1 .. but now I will wait for the el-cheapo "Indian Version" in cardboard box and photocopied manual.

i personally think it won't reach 1800+. the very highest i can imagine would be 1499 and anything beyond that would be a massive sales failure. as for console games, they seem to have a large range in their prices... i've heard from 1800-3300, so we can't really speculate. it will probably be at the higher end of the range but that's pretty much all we can say with any degree of certainty.

hopefully they get the indian box version out soon after release. i hate the shitty packaging we get as well, but since it costs 50% or even less than the alternative, we have to grin and bear it.
