After RMA'ing my cousins Biostar GF-7050 3 times and with it still giving problems, im fedup of it and the service center guys have agreed to give me a credit note. Have an E2160 processor. Looking for the most reliable and VFM motherboard right now. The credit note will be Rs 500 less than the original purchase price. Thinking of going in for the Gigabyte G31E-S2L. Any other suggestions which would be more reliable and get better onboard sound?
Gonna collect it in an hours time:)

if its realiblity u need , go for INTEL ORIGINAL BOARDS. Thet offer minimum or absolutely no tweaking ... but they r dammmm satbel and reliable !!!

U can get Intel df33fb for around 3k.

^^

that is not applicable to all boards..

i had 3 intel 865GBF boards lying around.. all went kaput by the end of the warranty period..

one was within warranty which i sent for rma to banglore, i received it in 1month, which again stopped working after 6months.

i would buy intel mobo only if it's cheaper than all other brands.

stick with gigabyte G31, it's a solid and stable board for the price it demands.

Thanks for your views guys. In that case i think i will stick to the Gigabyte board itself. Leaving now to get it. Thanks again:)

maybe it can be due to faulty PSU...:) +1 stick with gigabyte brand...

Got the Gigabyte board in the end:) Paid a diff of Rs 500 after furious bargaining! It wasnt the fault of the PSU...there were regular probs with the onboard sound and display! Wasnt the case with another board with the same PSU.
Btw have seen a lot of ppl saying they got the edifier C3 for 3.9k. Enquired at lamington road yesterday and the least quote i could get was 5.4k. How come?
