CPU/Mobo Motherboard Advice for Phenom X2 945

My motherboard (MSI 785GM-E51) recently went dead. I want to purchase a new one. Need your suggesstions. This is my rig, I use it for weekend gaming sessions and movies+browsing.

AMD Phenom X2 945
Corsair 2X2 GB DDR3 1333 RAM
ATI Sapphire HD5770 1GB GFX Card
Gigabyte 460 W SMPS
500 GB Seagate HDD

Is the Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 @ 4.1k a good option, is it compatible? Suggest some good budget alternatives with gaming in mind. Usb 3 preferred. Also suggest if I should go for Atx form factor.
