i am in a bit of a fix in deciding the motherboard + CPU combo. the details are as follows:
1. Q: What is your budget?
• 20k for (CPU + mobo)
3. Q: What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
• CPU Motherboard - Socket 939 mobo+CPU from before the great deluge
• GPU - Sapphire 4850 HD
• RAM - DDR1 2 GB RAM
• Monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2033
• SMPS - CM Real Power Pro 460W
4. Q: Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
• Monitor
• SMPS (i guess will need an upgrade to a 650W PSU)
• GPU
5. Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
• CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
• Motherboard - MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD
6. Q: Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
• Sound Card - Xonar DX or Xonar Essence STX
• SMPS - 650W
• Cabinet - CM 360 (?)

just reiterating, the 20k budget is only for the CPU + Mobo combo. the rest of the purchases are obvious (fixed expense, i.e.)
