I am looking to buy a motherboard for my unlocked 555BE [Quad @ stock] in 5~6k range [anything less would be a bonus]

my requirement
2 hard disk can get more in future
core unlocker for my current proccy
piledriver compatible [i hope it will use AM3+ socket ... correct me if wrong]
reliable sold build as my PC is always on during days and some time in nights as well
usb3 etc......

I would be using it with a GPU but i would prefer an integrated graphics so that i am not stuck when there is no GPU [upgrading time lapse]

currently my MSI mobo have gone bad and its lying with service center so i would be purchasing the mobo sooner rather than later

@kartikoli these are your options --
  • ASUS M5A97 ~6500/-
  • GIGABYTE-880GM-USB3 ~5500/-
  • ASUS M4A88-M ~5500/-
Hope this helps, Cheerio!

Go for either of the 880G based motherboards then but beware that certain features of the AMD FX-series processors will be turned off OR are incompatible with these boards.

No, you will miss out on more base features, like the better power saving steppings and low power state mode that were featured with the Buldozer architecture based processors and associated chipset(s).

Other features may-may not be missing you will have to compare a 880G and 970G based motherboard side-by-side and make the choice. Cheerio!

power saving is a positive but no Display port makes me shiver [just sold my 560Ti and currently on IGP .... atleast i can operate my PC ]

OK 970 chipset is out of contention so how is ASIS m5a88-m compared to GIGABYTE-880GM-USB3
i cant find ASUS M4A88-M anywhere online

Here is where I quoted the prices from -- AMD MOTHERBOARD - Hardwire.in.

The ASUS M4A88-M is not compatible with FX-series processors so it is not eligible for your usage.

Take whichever motherboard you fancy, the feature set and cost price are same, now it boils down to your personal preference. Cheerio!

P.S. -- Even the component layout on the motherboards is identical.
