CPU/Mobo Motherboard not POSTing

Hi,

I need help to resolve the issue I am facing in starting a motherboard. Its a ASUS P4S800D motherboard and it is not POSTing. When the SMPS is powered on, the motherboard LED lights up properly and after pressing the POWER button, the CPU fan spins. But there is no video on the monitor. And I also cannot hear the beep sound.

I have used 3 separate CPU's and graphics card to start the motherboard but it just wont boot to BIOS. I cant figure out what has gone wrong :23: and have done all the trouble shooting. There is no fault with the graphics card, RAM, CPU or the PSU because those are working fine. Please help me out and make the motherboard to start functioning normally :bomb: . Any good advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
 
tried it a few times. Not working. I am using an external cooling fan for the CPU and the CPU power pin on the board is not connected. Could this be causing the motherboard not to boot? The CPU gets hot after powering the system ON, means it is working properly. But I am not hearing the beep and getting video on the monitor. Any hardware expert :bigok: here can advice me what should be done? :23:

I got this board from Ebay and the seller says it was working fine before he shipped it. The board appears to be fine with no bent caps or burnt components. He has agreed to refund the money also but I am hoping to get this board to work.

That question doesn't help in solving the issue :no2:. The requirement was urgent because I am stuck with my shitty PIII + 128MB RAM and it is not of much help. So I bought the mobo from Greece and the price was quite same or even cheaper than being sold on eBay.in . If you have an Intel 865/875 Chipset mobo with AGP 8X slot in prime working condition then let me know. I am ready to buy the same.

Any other suggestions to help boot the mobo to BIOS?
 
What do you mean by external cooling fan? And why haven't you connected the CPU fan pin to the motherboard? Doesn't make sense...

sorry for the OT. i did not post the solution because i don't know the solution. but why a puzzle for the answer you know, the price.

I use Thermalright XP 120+ heatsink and a 120MM fan having 4 pin ATX power connector for cooling. Obviously that cannot be connected to the 3 PIN connector.
 
I have been there. Many times. If all the components are O.K then it is the mother board which has got problems. Did you take out the motherboard and install it again? Check that you have no extra stand offs remaining from the earlier board. Dust the cabinet and motherboard and install again. It has solved the problems for me some times.

Computer service shops have Motherboard testers. Call a service engineer and he will test it. Tell him that you want the motherboard checked.
 
Thanks for the suggestion fellas, but the issue has not been resolved.

Update: Ebay seller has made a full refund for the non working item.
