CPU/Mobo Motherboard suggestions for Intel E7400

actually i dont want m/b for gaming...:hap5:
i want best o/p when playing movies... blue-rays,hd-vdo and multimedia stuff..
(g45 chipset is for full hd view..??) with c2d e7400

can i get m/b +gfx card in 7.5k .. can they give what i want??? :huh:

or i go with following m/b >>

gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H

MSI P7NGM-DIGITAL

geforce chipset better than intel G45????
please help me out

G31 board + Gfx card.... is that gud option....:huh:

1> i need cooling soltn???
2> is that gfx card will have dvi,hdmi, fire wire o/p port??? :S
3> sonar card??

i read on some forum that nvidia g9400 ,g9300 onboard chipset give best hd processing than intel chipsets...

DVI / HDMI - Yes .. , No firewire

Its a sound card and called Xonar

I have a doubt

Why did you choose E7400..

Did you buy the processor already...If not

Going the AMD way is much better

Otherwise Gigabyte G31 or P31 = (3k) + Palit HD 4670 Super (=5k)

The graphic card has native HDMI with Display port

THough the graphic card is a little pricey it will be worth it if you plan any gamming in the future.

Otherwise you can go for Sapphire HD 4350 (=2.6 K) + good sound card (2k)

I am not having good knowledge on sound card..But that will also depend on what kind of speakers you r having
 
palit hd cards are reliable.??/:ashamed:

nvidia or ati cards are good in performance for all kind of vdo playback..

i am decided this card for 3.9k

GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

any better alternative for it in that price??
 
finally i decided for this board Gigabyte GA-EG41MF-S2H have 16x pci.. in 5k.
other high end G45/G43 of g-byte dont have it..

so now i m looking for gfx card arnd 3k-4k for mid range gaming with full HD/BD video playing capbil..

see here or recommend urs best..

If you're going Intel, don't go higher than E5200, i just purchased an E7400 for a friend and as far as i can tell, there is hardly any performance difference, even lesser so once you start OCing.
Go with the Gigabyte G31 S2L/ES2L for the motherboard. Bought 2 of these recently and its hard for me to believe as to the value you get from such an inexpensive board. There are some good boards with Integrated Nvidia and Ati solutions but i strongly recommend you use a discreet card.
8600GT DDR3 is a nice card and sufficient for your needs, however, if you have the budget for an E7400, get the E5200 as mentioned above, put the remainder into the GPU budget and go for an HD 4670. You will not regret it.

i just bought new pc last week and i say go for e7400 + Hd 4670

I have bought asus P5N73-AM mobo it comes with builtin 7050 geforce and

while playing xvid my cpu usage is 1% GPU doing all work.

Although while playing 1080 P it went 50% with Coreavc .

Vlc was 35-45% :)

Am waiting for price slash of 4850 ahah

E5200 is 2.5 GHZ Dual core cpu and E7400 is Core2 Duo @ 2.8 GHZ

Difference lies in efficiency and 3MB L2 cache 2.80Ghz 1066MHz FSB

Thats all am out.............

when it comes to hd and bd playback then even 8400gs can also deliver smoothly...

Both are dual core processors with different branding based on intel's marketting strategy.
Both are 45nm, so no question of efficiency difference. Most E5200 have as much or more OC potential than the E7400's. Performance gains with that 1 extra MB of L2 cache are small, and become smaller still once both are OC'ed.

IMO, either go for E5200, or make a straight jump to the E8xxx series higher end C2D's.
