For wife, so 16gb should be fine. Excluding the need for external storage, which would you guys recommend?

She uses it mostly for very basic stuff. She has a refractive error, so larger screen with same resolution would probably help with reading without specs?

On the other hand have heard about the Lenovo rebooting et. True? Also, it's an older version of the OS.

Since she has an optical problem, get her to use both the phones before deciding to buy one.
Moto G would be sufficient for her needs. It has very good battery life. And a good screen too.
